How to Delete Your Account
You can permanently delete your Tote account and all associated data directly from the app. Follow these steps:
- Open the Tote app on your device
- Tap the Settings tab at the bottom of the screen
- Tap Account to open your account settings
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
Your account and data will be permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.
What Data Is Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your account profile — name, email address, and profile photo
- Shopping lists you own — including all items and aisle assignments. If a list is shared with collaborators who have edit or share permissions, ownership is transferred to a collaborator instead of being deleted.
- Shared list memberships — you are removed from any lists shared with you by others
- Purchase and billing records — subscription and payment data associated with your account
- Device and session metadata — app version, platform, locale, and timezone information
- Location data — city and country information derived from your device
What Data Is Retained
No personal data is retained. All data listed above is deleted immediately when you confirm account deletion.
Anonymous, aggregated analytics data (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely for service improvement purposes.
Before You Delete
- Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your account does not cancel an active Tote+ subscription. To avoid continued charges, cancel your subscription before deleting your account:
- Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. You will need to create a new account if you wish to use Tote again.
